IS THE UNITED STATES READY FOR A WOMEN PRESIDENT? — by Catherine Morgan

As a women, I want to believe that answer to this question is yes. As an objective observer, I have to wonder. In reading comments on other forums, and listening to the commentary on news programs….There seems to be a lot of hate Hillary banter going on. I don’t have a problem with anyone who dislikes a politician based on their abilities to do the job or their qualifications. However, most of what I have been hearing has less to do with her qualifications, and more to do with her being a women. Quite frankly, I take offense to it.

I wouldn’t consider myself pro-Hillary. At this point, I still want to wait and hear debates and get more facts before I commit to one opinion or another. But one opinion I am ready to commit to is…..My lack of faith in the general voting public to vote for a candidate that is best qualified for the job. When did we start caring more about whether we would want to have a beer with the candidate, then whether the candidate has an ounce of common sense? Am I the only one who just doesn’t get it?

I think, if we don’t get our “collective” acts together for this next election….And actually elect a candidate based on their qualifications and not their likability….This country is going to be in an even bigger mess than we are now. The truth is, we need more than just a good president, we are really going to need a miracle worker. I just wonder if we as voters are going to be up to the task, and get passed our “American Idol” voting mentality. But, I sure hope we can.

So…..Are we ready for a women president? I would like to know what you think. I know I am ready. If Hillary can prove herself as the best candidate, I will surely vote for her. And if she wins, it will be one small step for women, and one giant leap for America. I for one would be proud to see a women as the President of the United States of America.

Food for thought: What if both the Republican and Democratic Parties ended up with women as their candidate for the Presidency??? That’s a mind blower??? May the best women win????

Well, tell me what you think…..After-all, that’s what this blog is all about.

I hate to say this, but no I don’t think our country is mature enough to accept the leadership of a female. Here’s why we’re not mature enough. There are tremendous numbers of men and women who do not see women as deserving of respect and having value beyond their use as sex objects, or housecleaners. Look at the numbers of abused women. Women who stay with an abuser do not value themselves. Men who abuse do not value women. There is a great deal of misogyny in our country. A female President would be a distraction for the country and she simply will not be taken seriously.

I am not a fan of Hillary Clinton. I see her as a woman who sold her soul to power. Any woman who would stay with a man who clearly is a sexual predator, (yes I believe Bill Clinton is a sexual predator) automatically is not a woman who shares my values regarding marriage and the necessity of respect in male, female relationships.

Just because Hillary is running for the office and is a woman, does not mean she is the best man for the job.

Thanks for your comment. I wish I could say I disagree, because I believe it will be a great day for all women once we elect a woman for President. However, I agree with you that Hillary may not be the best woman for the job. Although, I will not make a final decission on this until much closer to the election.

uhmm i’m a girl n’ i say girls arent supposed to be President. if you have the time, take a look in the Bible. there are plenty of verses that say, “and man shall rule over our country forever” soo look it up. hillary clinton claims republicans arent Christians, and she wont answer the hypothetic questions durin the debate…so that just gives everyone a great example of why women shouldnt be President. i’m only 13 years old, but i’ll woop you with my facts if u keep on thinkin this, goin against the Bible.

  6. Mo Elizabeth Says:

btw dont even try to email me on that email cause it aint mine. if u want me to see your opinions, just post em on this page and i’l check it sometime….i aint givin some one i dont know/go against the Bible, my email.

  7. Catherine Morgan Says:

You are welcome to your opinion…But you don’t have to worry about me emailing you dear. It’s not my place to attempt to convince a thirteen year old girl to understand my point of view…I’m sure your parents have that covered.

    Thanks for your comments.
